But till you've got those adored friends, the basic guest just doesn't help. Such is custom and tradition, particularly when living in a world that has tight-knit families -- they just don't notice that yours isn't there.

Lorne -- yes Thanksgiving elsewhere than home is always a different feeling. I've dear Canadian friends who came to one of mine, and then shared their day of Grace with me last year -- bringing their wonderful maple syrup cake and sweet potatoes as contribution. Being thankful -- be it for survival, dear friends or family, is universal, hm?Madeleine Vedelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01349993969117086489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-27264491213073467792009-11-21T18:36:52.607+01:002009-11-21T18:36:52.607+01:00Hi. I think that it doesn't matter where you are for this day but it's important when you spend it with people who are very close to you. However, spending Thanksgiving time with your family has always very special atmosphere.

Good luck,
Lornelife insurance Canadahttp://lsminsurance.ca/calculators/canada/term-life.phpnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-34628114329455852002009-11-21T15:05:15.972+01:002009-11-21T15:05:15.972+01:00If somebody cooks for me I will happily clean the ...If somebody cooks for me I will happily clean the kitchen! One of my mottos when visiting is "never make more work for another woman if you can help it"
When I had the Libra birthday party dinner for 14 I had the main dishes made by our take out chef in town. Four women friends helped with dishing out the food at the kitchen island (no room on the table and too awkward to serve 14 at the table).
Often when we have large dinner parties everyone will bring something. But this time I told the usual bringers that I had everything. One friend said how nice it was to just come and enjoy it. But then she did the dishes while I was busy having dessert!Sharyn Ekberghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11987304898246173619noreply@blogger.com
