As I remember, attitudes towards dogs are more relaxed than in the US, people take them to restaurants, etc. It seems this has not changed much in the last ten years. I very much look forward to moving back to France in a year's time and, like you, eventually dividing my time between France and the US - a great balance.

Thanks again,

Johanna
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-42674419346203430332016-09-05T17:11:26.961+02:002016-09-05T17:11:26.961+02:00Hello La Paz, There are many dogs in Arles - some ...Hello La Paz, There are many dogs in Arles - some always on leash, others quietly trotting behind their masters/mistresses without leash, some roaming/owning the area, street and car savvy, returning home when they feel like it. As a result, well, suffice it to say it's best to watch where you walk. With large dogs, best to keep them with you on leash. You may have difficulty with rentals - that would be your most pressing problem. However, there are little houses outside the city limit with some land attached, I would look towards them for your living arrangements, and enjoy the not too long walks back to town and your courses. For great running free times, head out to the beaches - just 30 minutes south of town - or to walks in the Alpilles. As long as your dogs come obediently when you call to them, you'll find these excursions wonderful.

Take care,
Madeleine Vedelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01349993969117086489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-16579567608353958812016-09-04T02:53:55.763+02:002016-09-04T02:53:55.763+02:00Hello. On our trip in the spring of 2013, the hubby and I were sitting in our car eating farmer's market goodies near a reservoir park in Apt when a gentleman with a herd of goats and sheep came through the parking lot. The goats had tall curled horns like I had never seen before. It was fun to be in the midst of the traveling herd.
Trishiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14269792258443549777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-14352316810987446952015-01-15T18:28:49.581+01:002015-01-15T18:28:49.581+01:00Lunch was at my friend's house, her cat was la...Lunch was at my friend's house, her cat was lazing about in the sun under the table -- the post-lunch nap was right beside her!
Madeleine Vedelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01349993969117086489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577123711543704044.post-65069243198200771372015-01-15T13:41:55.268+01:002015-01-15T13:41:55.268+01:00Gorgeous photos.
